Opposition to War Censorship Fails in Congress
In Washington on May 31 the House rejected a censorship section of the espionage bill by 184 to 144, with 37 Democrats and 11 Republicans voting for it. Pullman conductors restore parlor cars on Southern Railway
Pullman parlor cars removed from afternoon trains between Harrisonburg and Washington were returned to service. Tornado toll rises across Missouri towns
Fourteen people died and scores injured as a tornado hit Wayne County on Wednesday afternoon. Reports from Marble Hill say at least twenty five killed and about 100 injured at Zalma in Bollinger County. Granite Bend and Chaonia also reported multiple deaths with McGee tallying six.
