A fire at a Broaday area nine room house near Va. 259 and Va. 619 Mayland displaced five people, all escaped unharmed. The blaze began in the living room around 2:30 a.m. with a woodstove suspected as the cause. Firefighters contained the fire in 30 to 45 minutes. most damage was in the living room and smoke spread through the home.
