Florida man dies by suicide after low-speed chase
Howard Fairfax Carpenter, 60, of Manatee County Florida, sought in the death of his former girlfriend Sandra L. Gruber, shot himself Sunday in his recreational vehicle on the shoulder of U S 220 in Grant County West Virginia after a pursuit, authorities said. Gruber was found slain December 13 in Carpenter's Braddenton home, according to Pendleton County police reports.
