In Jessup Maryland at least sixteen Howard County residents seek burial beside their pets as a local pet cemetery applies for a permit to inter humans in caskets and vaults. The owner says eight human cremains have already been buried with pets and a case exists of a person’s ashes sharing a casket with a dog. One couple wants a family plot with ten cats and a dog. A county official sees no major obstacle to granting the permit.
Weather outlook shows rain likely from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast with a snow band stretching Kansas Nebraska into Michigan and parts of Colorado Utah New Mexico and Texas. Cloudy today with rain late, highs in the 50s, rain likely tonight and Friday with highs in the 50s to 60s. Saturn rises tonight and will be prominent in the evening sky for eight months.
YAF announced it will press for legislation outlawing racial quotas and goals in affirmative action hiring. Clifford White, task force chair, said the model bill seeks to ban goals and timetables as well as quotas and would require proof of discriminatory intent to violate federal anti discrimination laws.
