George P Patten Dies in Edinburg at 83
George Washington Patten died in Edinburg on Tuesday evening November 30 from paralysis after a short illness at the home of his widow, Mrs. Arthur L. Steadman on Piccadilla Street. Born March 12 1847 he was 83 years, 8 months and 18 days old. A member of Company G 33rd Virginia Infantry Stonewall Brigade he attended the Presbyterian church for forty years. He is survived by one sister Mrs Ida Clinedinst of Edinburg. Services were held December 1 with Rev Dr McMurray and interment at Union Forge near Edinburg.
