Assembly Gets Proposal To Cut Auto Inspections

Chemical Spill Injures Seven At Charlottesville Laundry
A hazardous chemical spill at a Charlottesville laundry injured seven people including four employees and three firefighters. About 100 gallons of solvent tetrachloroethylene leaked from a 250-gallon tank after its legs collapsed. Boots dissolved. workers treated at University Hospital and released. Thomson becomes Virginia insurance chief
Former House Majority Leader James M. Thomson was sworn in as Virginia's new insurance commissioner succeeding interim chief William F. Flournoy.
