A fragmented note recalls the Garber family and friends as they mourn a loss and pledge support. Elder B. B. Shaver Barbara Garber Wil Anthony and others express sympathy to Mrs Fannie Garber while plans to locate the family and help continue work are mentioned.
A Weyers Cave family reunion for the descendants of the late George W. May gathered at the home of Mrs. Agnes V. May and Miss Sadie C. May. The day featured greetings, a Virginia style noon dinner, ice cream, cake and watermelons, with many relatives present from Park Station Waynesboro Lynchburg Oak Hill Weyers Cave and beyond.
Miss Madge Keller hosted a Saturday afternoon event from 3 to age clock at a Dayton home for Miss Clara, whose marriage to Mr. Ernest Hilton will occur tomorrow. Pauline Graver, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. Graver of Harrisonburg, plans marriage to Mr. Worrell Gaskill of New Jersey in September. A white and yellow color scheme complemented the 35 guests.
A Sun day School teacher Stayen hosted a visit to the Massanutton Caverns by his class at the Methodist Church. Pupils included Conrad Harold Clyde Blosser Charles Chew George Koontz Thomas Strange and Carlton Heat wole.
Mrs P amits petorabd yester day from Franklin West Virginia visiting neph John Bowers. Miss Loufgh Snead returns to Charlottesville after days with Miss Virginia Harmon at Mt Clinton. Mt Clinton hosts Virginia Harmon RN on vacation with mother Mrs C R Harmon. Families plan trips to Natural Bridge and Roanoke, with several extended visits from Staunton to Chicago and Webstchee. Other locals travel from Dayton Ohio to visit relatives near Harrisonburg.
Dr. William W. Giles, Virginia’s acting State Geologist, reports that the eight bituminous coal counties hold 21,621,000,000 tons untapped. He says reserves could supply the United States for about 48 years at current consumption. He notes extensive undisturbed deposits, potential for semianthracite development, and competition with Appalachian coal. Virginia’s coal region spans the great Appalachian field with untapped wealth.

It claims benefits for workers, overworked or indulgent individuals, and urges two tablets after meals with a two week trial, listing Selby Carey Medical Corp. in Elmira for orders.
