British forces maintain strong new lines in Belgium and France as Australians press Germans near Cameron House south of Polygon Wood. Northwest of Zonnebeke, heavy fighting continues in elevated terrain, with the overall situation described as exceedingly satisfactory to the British.
British forces in Flanders hold a six mile front from Tower Hamlets to St Julian with gains held against repeated German counterattacks. Haig reports heavy German losses as the line remains in British possession. Australians lash back south of Polygon Wood and northwest of Zonnebeke while French units repulse a German push on the Aisne and Chemin des Dames.
London reports Lieut General G T M Bridges who accompanied the Balfour mission to the United States last summer has lost a leg below the knee from a wound in action.
