More Money For Mothers Pension Bill Advances
Supporters of the Mothers Assistance Fund pushed the measure back to the Senate Appropriations Committee last night and it was re-reported with a $600,000 appropriation, up from $500,000. Agricultural extension bills, including farm bureau agent control under State College and experimental work with extension, were reconsidered. The State will match Federal appropriations totaling $425,482, with extension set at $200,000 and land grant at $50,000. The first measure would have lost a $170,000 Smith Lever Act federal grant.
