Mackey Presses Speed Up Of Railroad Injury Cases
Chairman Harry A. Mackey of the Pennsylvania State Compensation Board urges William G. McAdoo to direct railroads to drop interstate commerce defenses in injury cases and apply state compensation laws where injuries occur. He says this would reduce litigation and speed settled claims while easing train crew reductions. The ten compensation referees will expedite cases and limit required employee records.
