Forty three aboard the Red Cross liner Florizel were rescued after the ship foundered near Cape Race in a Sunday morning storm. Three rescue ships ferried survivors to St Johns while others are en route. among the rescued are Major Michael Sullivan, Ralph Burnham, and several crew members. Sixty nine aboard were saved in total. the Prospero and other ships coordinated rescue efforts with fifty plus remaining passengers and crew still unaccounted for.
