Leaders in Congress urge action on a warning resolution and warn that if it is introduced it will be passed over by a 7 to 1 vote. President Wilson remains determined to uphold American rights on the seas.
News from Washington reports that Germany might delay the start of the new submarine war, potentially giving the United States more time. President Wilson rallies Congress against actions that would restrain American seas rights while Congress debates warnings to mariners and possible diplomatic break options. Elmer J. Burkett of Lincoln files to run for Republican vice president on the Nebraska primary ballot.
Light rain or snow in Harrisburg area followed by colder conditions with a low around 28 degrees on Saturday. Passengers and the Merchants and Miners liner Cretan were transferred to the steamer Dorothy after a collision with a schooner fourteen miles from Cape Hatteras in dense fog. The Cretan, bound Philadelphia to Savannah, sustained a damaged bow and collision bulkhead, but crew and passengers reached safety. The Cretan sailed from Philadelphia with 28 passengers and 40 to 50 crew members. Captain J. B. Wood commanded.

Curfew at 10 pm daily. One hour daily exercise plus team training. Violations reported to the physical director if tempted. The rules do not require naming a partner in spooning cases.

Chester Pa Feb 25 John S Deperini foreman at the Dupont works at Carneys Point entered a barroom last evening and took poison saying his sweetheart had gone back on him.
In Pittsburgh on February 25, testimony in U S District Court claimed all records of the United States and Pennsylvania Brewers Associations prior to January 1, 1916 were destroyed. Officials Gardiner Schmidt and Lembeck denied destruction after subpoenas. Witnesses noted routine destruction of cancelled checks and minutes, with James Mulvihill testifying after surrendering at the federal building.
Admiral Cameron McKinslow warned the House Naval committee that one good battleship could counter all U S forces in the Pacific under certain conditions and said his command is inadequate even with reserves.
