Paris Feb 7 Allied premiers meet as the Supreme Allied War Council to set new conditions for Germany amid German tactics of obstruction. Officials expect a brief deadline for full compliance and note German ships not yet handed over.
For Harrisburg and vicinity fair to night and Saturday with little temperature change. Lows near 28 degrees. For Eastern Pennsylvania fair to night and Saturday with light changes and variable west winds. The Susquehanna and its branches will fall slowly though local rises possible from ice. A stage around 4.3 feet is indicated for Harrisburg Saturday morning.
Officials cannot confirm exact numbers for the Philadelphia division and Harrisburg area as 50000 Pennsylvania Lines east of Pittsburgh face a wholesale layoff. About 300 men have been released so far and many weeks remain before totals are finalized, with some crews in yards removed and placed on the extra list. The roster of affected rural school reforms and funding is noted in nearby legislative actions.
Two sea planes of the Portuguese republican forces dropped proclamation on Oporto the monarchist stronghold and returned to Aveiro. They bombarded and damaged the Espinho to Granja railway. He touts a Weimar empire of justice and truth and calls for renewed German spirit. Ebert warns allies as armistice terms remain severe and Germany awaits Wilson peace.
In Coblenz on February 7, a list of Germans convicted of violations of army regulations in American occupied territory was published. The notices include each offender’s name address offense charged and the fine or sentence imposed to deter minor offenses against soldiers.
Antonio Bartello was brought before the police court today on a charge of insulting women while intoxicated. He was arrested by Walter Thompson, driver for the Washington Fire Company, at Chestnut and Second streets last night.
The Duke of Santo Mauro, master of the queen s household, has died in Madrid as announced on February 7.

First Lieutenant George Kunkel Jr son of President Judge and Mrs George Kunkel of 601 North Front Street has fully recovered from gassing in the Argonne forest drive which began September 26 and lasted eight days He was in charge of a platoon of forty men with the 311th Machine Gun Battalion The unit supported the 313th Regiment at Dead Man's Hill He spent six weeks in hospital and has been placed in the class for active service again by his surgeons. London strike by railway workers is ending as thousands return to posts and government agencies believe the crisis has passed.
An alarm from Box 221 at Fourth and Market streets at 1 45 this afternoon alerted a large crowd after a wire in the auxiliary box at Dives Pomeroy and Stewart short circuited. The wire was repaired immediately.
About five thousand iron workers at the Merchant Shipbuilding Company in Bristol Pennsylvania walked out in a stoppage that halted nearly all yard work. Company officials say the action is part of a campaign to unionize the plant.
Berlin reports a massive walkout as workers across Dusseldorf from railways, posts, telegraphs, banking, law, medicine, teaching and other professions quit. Public services halt theaters and restaurants close. big plants suspend operations in a coordinated protest against Spartacist violence.
Seventeen hours of deliberation ended with a jury convicting Russell Potter of manslaughter for the death of his fourteen year old wife in Waynesboro. The verdict was delivered at 10 30 this morning, with the case continuing on Page 16.
Edith Mullen sues Daniel Mullen in divorce court alleging harsh treatment and expulsion from bed with a ten month old baby during funeral mourning. The couple married in March 1909. The court also heard Mamie Brooks versus Nelson Brooks.
Governor William C. Sproul announced approval of Brunner plans for Capitol Park extensions and a Memorial bridge. He asked the Legislature for early funding to begin improvements and to build two office buildings on land acquired in recent years. He stressed no time wasted and urged prompt action.
Traffic on Third street and State street lines halted for about half an hour after a trolley car jumped a switch near Walnut and Second streets. Car No. 619 traveling east on Third at Walnut swung onto Walnut toward Second, injuring a policeman Brine and a pedestrian. A Penbrook Square car attached to the derailed car and helped pull it back onto the rails.
