Michael Lawler, sought by city and county authorities since early in the year for distributing punchboards and other gambling devices, surrendered at Alderman Landis’s office and posted 300 bail for a hearing next week. Police had wintered visiting stores and prosecuting proprietors. Lawler previously aided co-defendant Brenner with gambling supplies and promised payment of fines. He had vanished on the warrant, was traced to Buffalo, then returned to the city.
