Dental Clinic Closes in Rutherford Polk Counties
Dr. Lyman Holliday of the State Board of Health completed a series of dental clinics in Rutherford and Polk county colored schools. Since March 18 he examined 485 Rutherford and 90 Polk children, performed 959 and 259 operations, and treated 818 Rutherford and 87 Polk patients. He gave 12 lectures to 595 students on oral hygiene and nutrition, stressing calcium phosphate foods, brushing, and early care to prevent malocclusion.

Boston V. McKinney 26 a World War II veteran from Doggetts Grove and Gastonia North Carolina died Sunday April 7. He was buried at Jerusalem Baptist Church Harris with Rev B O Bass and others officiating. Survived by widow Francis three children Rose Lee Emoch Elliner his father Boston McKinney stepmother Mrs Ader McKinney and siblings Marie Harris Irene Anderson and Richard. He worked at a Gastonia textile plant and served as janitor at a local white church. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and well regarded in the community.
