The grand champion bull Bar doliermere DB6704 was shown by George Garretson and Van Ivey at the West Texas Fair in Abilene. Judge Henry Moore oversaw 29 bulls and 42 females from Angus cattlemen. The junior and grand champion female was Miss Elite shown by Jeff Grote, an FFA member of Mason. The homegrown junior yearling won the junior heifer show.
Mr and Mrs Jim Armstrong received word their son Pvt Michael Armstrong will depart next week for Fort Ord California for three to ten weeks of training after completing basic at Fort Bliss.
