Cattle Grub Control Time Is Here
County Agent C A Stone urges cattle and pecan tree owners to treat for grub and tick infestations. He advises 5 percent rotenone spray at 7 1/2 pounds per 100 gallons water over cattle, repeated every 30 days as grubs appear. Dusting with rotenone powder is suggested for small herds. Tick control uses Ear Tick Smear No 1029. Twig girdlers on pecan trees require collecting and burning fallen twigs. Sun scalded saplings may be painted with a DDT solution to reduce infestation.
