Plan to reduce wage levies by adjusting tax withholdings

A San Antonio IRS official outlines a method to curb wage levies on delinquent taxpayers by allowing workers to drop exemptions on Form W-4 or to increase withholding through a file amendment. Each exemption dropped adds about 120 dollars yearly withheld, reducing year end tax due and avoiding levies. The plan urges employers to inform employees of these options to prevent delinquencies.
