Gillespie County farmers and ranchmen press on with the Agricultural Conservation Program. ACA Secretary Dorman D. Large Group Gillespie Registrants Inducted Last Week
A group of Gillespie County residents were inducted into the U.S. Army and Navy at Fort Sam Houston reception center on Tuesday of last week. Lt Joseph Jenschke Killed in Arkansas Training Crash
Lt Joseph Jenschke son of Mr and Mrs Felix Jenschke of the Lackenbach community was killed in an accidental plane crash near Canfield Arkansas while on a routine training flight from Barksdale Field Louisiana. He held Gunners and Bombardier Wings and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. Funeral services were held at Schaetter Funeral Home and St Marys Church with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.

Loans To Finance Feed Crops Are Now Available
The Emergency Crop Loan Division of the Farm Credit Administration offers loans to finance production of wheat and oats with a maximum of 400 dollars per person. Applications are taken at the Fredericksburg Machine Shop in Fredericksburg Texas and funds cover land preparation feed for work stock fuel oil seed and other supplies. Loans are secured by a first lien on the financed crop and livestock feed loans are also available with a first lien on the livestock. Nonbank borrowers should seek alternative funds as eligibility is limited to those without other financing options.
