The War Department urges early mailing of Christmas parcels to overseas personnel between Oct 15 and Nov 15 1947 with priority to Japan Korea and Pacific islands by Nov 1. Cards may be mailed anytime but before Nov 15 for timely delivery. Boxes must be strong sealed weight limits 70 pounds or 100 inches combined length and girth and packed with cushioning. Prohibited items include intoxicants inflammables poisons and weapons. Contents must bear clear postal inspection markings and avoid misaddressed or joke inscriptions.

Shooting Preserve Licenses Should Be Secured Now
Farmers and ranchers who lease land for deer and turkey seasons must obtain Shooting Preserve Licenses at the Fredericksburg chamber of commerce. Rahe party heads to Montana hunting trip
O. Rahe and son Harold Rahe Bill Kaiser and Homer Hughes depart early Thursday for a hunting trip near Somers Montana. In Montana Mr Rahe will visit his sister Mrs Ed Schirmer. The other three hunters plan elk and bear hunts in the Montana wilds.
