George Buzzy Parker Sworn In As Harper Postmaster

George D. Parker known as Buzzy was formally installed as Harper Postmaster on Tuesday morning September 30 1975 by Max L Noe Acting Sectional Center Manager of the Austin Postoffice. The ceremony followed his role as Officer In Charge since 1970 and his prior service with the Harper community.

A Sheep Dog Clinic sponsored by the Harper Lions Club will be held Sunday October 5 from 2 30 to 5 p m at Harper Community Park Arena. Eddie Hale of Ozona Texas will demonstrate stock dog work using his dogs and invites attendees to bring their dogs. Hale will cover do s and don ts of training. Admission is free.

Early Frost Sets Record Low in Harper on Sept 25

A record low of 32 degrees was recorded in Harper on Thursday morning September 25 with ice on auto windshields. Frank Staudt reported heavy frost on his Harper roof and Gene Bode noted frost nearby. The following morning the thermometer reached 33 degrees with more frost on homes.

Harper Band Boosters Mexican Supper Friday Oct 3

The Harper Band Boosters sponsor a Mexican Supper at the school cafetorium Friday evening October 3 with serving from 5 30 to 7 30 p m before the Harper Longhorns versus Leakey football game. Adult plates are 2 00 and children under 12 pay 1 00. Proceeds support the Harper Band Boosters.
