Mr and Mrs Ben Evers marked fifty years of marriage with a Sunday celebration at the American Legion Hall in Doss hosted by children Gladys and Wallace Lively Bryan Emma Jane and Benno Eckert Jr Fredericksburg Vernell and Presley Arbelger Hunt. The event featured gold decor a lace cloth cake and hand crafted flowers by Mrs Evers with a barbecue for about 180 relatives and friends and a closing dance by Pehl's Old Time Band.

Mrs Antoinette Acker and Dr and Mrs Jim Lewis of Odessa spent the weekend visiting at the Walter Parker ranch. Joe Kaiser of Fredericksburg attended the funeral of Mrs Caroline Wieting in Harper. Roy Jones and his wife visited Mrs Jones' parents the McDougalls over the weekend. Jack Jones was released from the hospital Saturday and is reported to be much better.
