Farm Investment Gap Drives Youth from City Jobs
The piece argues farms require heavy self-financed investment while railroads and oil provide equipment per employee. It cites figures of $10,000 to $100,000 in farm tools and land, earnings of $2,500 to $5,000 yearly, and 70 percent parity pricing. It suggests a two person farm partners with a son or son-in-law can boost yields and security, addressing rural outmigration.
