Town News and Tax Plans From Representative Townsend
The Texas Senate backed Governor Connally’s plan to merge the Game and Fish Commission with the State Parks Board, with funds shifted to the General Fund. A $500,000 park development allocation was noted, including Inks Lake State Park. The House debate included a 32.9 million tax bill with sales tax revisions and exemptions changes. Townsend reports district gains in redistricting and plans to visit during Easter recess.
