Terrell Sledge, a 42 year old War Veteran from Kyle, Texas, filed for the Democratic primary for the U S Senate with a $100 fee. A UT Austin graduate and Rhodes Scholar, he has farmed since 1928 and edited The People’s Business newspaper distributing 200 000 copies statewide.

Rockets Replace Cannon as Chief Armament for Planes and Ships

The navy unveils long studied rocket research showing rockets will supplant heavy cannon for aircraft and ships. A top rocket mounts under wings may power fighters with six rockets, while a massive 66 000 pound thrust unit promises far greater reach than German V2. CYF Holds Songfest and Movie Night at Presbyterian Church

The Christian Youth Fellowship met on Sunday night with youths from local churches for hymns and new songs. Rev. Workman led silent prayer before a technicolor US tour film, ending with America and Star Spangled Banner. Next meeting June 2 will feature three sound movies.
