Profit Grows When Water Flows

An electric water system boosts farm profitability by improving milk and egg yields, reducing labor, and increasing convenience. A 1/3 hp motor can pump 100 gallons hourly for about one cent, versus 30 cents with hand pumps. Milk could rise at least 10 percent, about 690 pounds per cow yearly, or $18 per cow. Thirty cows cover annual system costs in one year. Egg production climbs 19 percent with proper water temperature, yielding 390 dozen more eggs from 590 hens. A 609 gallons per hour system piping water to all needs is advised. National Water Systems Month, in May, promotes these benefits.
