E C Schmidt chairman of the local War Price and Rationing Board announced that all small trucks and other commercial vehicles are now eligible for used tires and some new tires. Effective April 21, delivery trucks can obtain smaller used truck tires and old passenger tire sizes, while essential service trucks may receive new tires up to eight ply. Operators must hold a ration certificate and conserve tire supply.
Mr and Mrs Alf Lehne visited their nephew Lt Chester C Roeder Jr on furlough from Alaska last Sunday. He had been there two years. He, his wife, and his parents saw his grandparents Mr and Mrs Peter Roeder and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hamff and two children of Giddings and Mr. and Mrs. Felix Thiele of San Antonio visited their father, Henry Thiele, Sunday.

Methodist Rural Fellowship to hold mid western conference May 2–3 in Kansas City with leaders from Cornell and several churches. Protestant churches seek $1,870,000 for 1944 overseas relief. A Evanston conference warns against racism and urges Christian action to avoid racial war and sustain Christianity in the Far East.
Tivyville locals and relatives journeyed to Fredericksburg for visits and business including the Kleins, Juenkes, Roeders, Zenner, and Maimers. A Baccalaureate Service for Harper High School graduates is set for May 14 at 8 00 p m and the Women’s Missionary Society meets May 17 at 2 00 p m at the church.

Mrs Alfons Novian of Camp Fannin Texas visited her parents Mr and Mrs Louis Feller and other relatives during the weekend. Mrs Charlie Spencer and Mrs Elton Spencer and son were shopping in Harper Tuesday evening.
Rev R A Allen leads Sunday School at 10 30 a m with preaching at 11 15 a m and a second service at 2 30 p m Everyone is invited to attend at the church.
J. H. Meredith pastor invites the public to attend all church services at the Kerrville Methodist Church. Home address listed as 612 Sidney Baker Street. Mr and Mrs Edgar Cogeshall and their young son visited the J M Stevens home recently.
