Roosevelt staffer Wallace nails big postwar shift
S. B. Pettengill warns in strong terms about Henry Wallace becoming Secretary of Commerce and head of the RFC. The piece argues the plan would grant the government total control over workers, prices, wages, production, and consumer affairs, signaling a radical postwar program. A note mentions a Verde Creek sawmill project by Houston men securing timber rights and planning cypress lumber.
