Fredericksburg man completes 2800 hour lake project plan
Alfred Hennig, longtime Fredericksburg resident, bought about 126 acres along Barrons Creek in 1942 and by 1946 developed a plan to dam the creek and create a lake. His design featured three spillways to control floods that once washed out bridges in 1935 and prompted later concrete replacements.

It condemns taxpayers bearing losses, inflation fears, and political motives behind controls while urging voters to resist extending price controls beyond June 30, 1952. The column cites OPS actions and a Canadian surplus contrast, ending with local social notes.
