Humble Pipe Line Opens 18 Inch Oil Channel in Texas
R V Hanrahan pushes the valve as Humble Pipe Line Company begins flow from Kemper Station through an 18 inch line to storage. The $15 million project coats river crossings with cement and uses four and six unit rigs. Initial capacity is 85,000 barrels daily, rising to 135,000 with three new stations Eckert Fort McKavett and Warda. The line spans 52 miles through sixteen counties and replaces a growing, costly web of small, outdated lines.
