Old Glory flags and a national display campaign history
A long excerpt traces the meaning of the American flag as a symbol of patriotism and constitutional loyalty. It notes a nationwide drive from Memorial Day to Flag Day encouraging displays on homes, businesses, schools and places of worship, and suggests families recite the Pledge of Allegiance together. The text then recounts the flag’s evolution from 13 stripes and 13 stars to 50 stars and 13 stripes, linking changes to state admissions and national events.
