Mrs Jerald Wayne Ahrens formerly Miss Vickie Honig was honored at two post nuptial events. On May 9 at Legior Hall a tea featured corsages for the honoree and her mother and grandmothers. May 16 in Harper at St James Lutheran Parish Hall another reception followed with spring flowers, cake, and gifts.
Miss Lynette Louise Honig and Arthur Jens Hansen united in marriage on Saturday May 29 at St James Lutheran Church Harper officiated by Rev Bull Hill. Maid of honor Kathy Landis bridesmaids Donna Honig Alice Hansen Merlee Hansen flower girl Emma Kolmeier. best man Calvin Grobe. Reception at parish hall. The couple will reside at 205-1/2 W Travis Fredericksburg.
Lynette Honig and her friends hosted a reception for about 35 to 40 guests after a May 29 wedding at St James Lutheran Church in Linda Ahrens. The event featured a graduate cake from Milton Ahrens and helpers including Malton Ahrens, Harry Sulte, and Curtis Klett. guests came from Fredericksburg Harper Stonewall and Junction.
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation was established Monday night May 31 by the outgoing Fleet Admiral Chester W Nimitz Naval Museum board. It aims to receive donations for purchasing property and reconstructing the Steamboat Hotel and surrounding historic sites in honor of Admiral Chester W Nimitz.

Mr and Mrs Alfred Lehne and Mrs Alfred Kramer visited Mr and Mrs Allen Bridges and boys for a Sunday gathering. Kevin marked his 13th birthday and joined a trip to Harper to stay with grandparents. Various relatives from Fredericksburg, San Antonio, Luckenbach, and Converse visited family in Harper and nearby towns over the weekend.
