Calcium boosts for flock egg production and health
Egg eating signals a calcium deficit in the flock, says Geo P McCarthy of Texas A and M extension. Provide extra calcium via limestone or ground oyster shell, even with commercial feeds, to prevent problems like perosis and ensure bone and egg shell development. A free choice mineral box with calcium and manganese supplements can pay dividends.
