Senator Douglas Tackles Waste in River and Harbors Bill

The piece warns against political pork in a 1.5 billion river and harbor package. It cites billions in questionable projects such as 75000 to improve Palm Beach surf bathing, 21000 for crab catching at Twich Cove, 34000 for yacht racing at Stonington Harbor, and 480 million in drains. It argues these sums burden working families including Social Security taxes and threaten national security.
