Texas Senate holds unique session on Texas annexation
The Texas Senate met for the first time at its own call to act on recess appointments from Gov. Coke R. Stevenson. The body rejected Harry B. Crozier as unemployment head and adjourned, with 13 voting for and 12 against the session, while Gov. Stevenson denounced it as illegal and questions loomed over appointment validity and possible court action.
