The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce outlines a county wide airport plan emphasizing benefits for farmers ranchers and residents. It argues air freight could lower costs rival rail rates and enable rapid delivery of parts medicines and perishable goods while improving emergency medical response and regional connectivity.
The program committee met Tuesday to finalize the Year Book plans. Mrs. Mark Stevens will serve as Lunch Room Manager. Residents Charlie Barrett and family visited San Antonio, drawing attention to local community activity as Gillespie County weighs a first class airport project to attract air traffic.
Local residents list visits across Harper Junction and nearby towns. Families including Brown Whitewood Schmidt and Russell families travel to San Antonio Harpers for weekends and holidays. Rain brings relief to the community while residents continue to visit relatives and friends.
Workman hosts a full Presbyter y meeting with sessions on Indian work youth work social education and action foreign and national missions spiritual advance university outreach and church leadership. The day includes a noon mutton barbecue by the Harper Church men and separate afternoon sessions.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and son Roy visited in the Watkins Tarr home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Klein and children visited in the Willie Meier home Sunday evening. Lon Parker of Round Mountain is spending several days here on business. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Parker and children were business visitors here Monday.
Mrs. Clarence Curtis and son John Cave of Abilene visit this week with Mr. and Mrs. Levi Maddox. Mr. and Mrs. Ford Tatsch were in Fredericksburg on business Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bode and son Douglas Roy spent weekend in Fredericksburg with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Itz. Gene Barker of Millersview stayed with Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Barker Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence St. Clair traveled to Fredericksburg on Saturday for business. Mrs. Elgin Bode and daughter Esther Gail of San Antonio are visiting the Walker family. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ellebracht also noted.
Fredericksburg visitors spent Friday with friends, Weldon and Oleane Walker enjoyed Sunday in Kerrville with Mrs. Kate Walker and kin, while Levi Maddox John Green and others visited the Lee Goff home Tuesday. Mrs. Ben Thomas visited Alf Ellebracht last week. Mrs. Fred Whitewood and her sons plus Miss Romell and Miss Whitewood sisters were Harper visitors.
