Tests For Gas To Be Made At Tatsch Well
Gas tests will be held this week on the Tatsch No 1 oil well in Kerr County. Independent driller W D Owen said the well is down to 1751 feet and casing is being lowered, with plans to drill to 5000 feet if oil or natural gas is not reached first. The well sits on the Ford Tatsch ranch in Survey 106 southeast corner, about 14 miles from the Lee Goff ranch, on a 14 000 acre lease started in July. The cable tool unit has slowed to 10 feet per day as rock is extremely hard, and Owen may bring in a rotary rig if needed. Visitors are welcome at the rig and the road from Mountain Home Junction Highway is well marked.
