St Vladimir's Seminary to rise to university level

The St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Brooklyn plans to elevate to university status by adding three European scholars and linking with Union Theological Seminary and potentially Columbia University. Pfc Walter Schaper Jr In Japan With the Eighth Army

Pfc Walter Schaper Jr of Fredericksburg Texas has just returned from a ten day leave at an Eighth Army Rest Hotel near Toyo Japan. He enlisted August 22 1944 at Fort Sam Houston and earned the Combat Infantry Badge and European Theatre Ribbon with two battle stars. After serving overseas with infantry he volunteered for paratroopers and now serves in the 81 MM Mortar Squad Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion 188th Parachute Infantry Regiment stationed near Sendai Japan. He is undecided about the future but is interested in the Army 20 year retirement plan.
