Parallel terraces rise in Gillespie County farms
Felix Herber near Willow City completed a new parallel terrace and maintenance on an old one with district support. Joe Burlhett Jr and Worrs Ranch have parallel terraces, improving field efficiency and reducing point rows. Eugene Lindig reports excellent small grain grazing east of Stonewall and plans to keep livestock off pastures until May while army worm damage affects native grasses. The district notes growing use of parallel terraces and expects the 2000 U S population to reach 280 to 350 million.
