Tempo of Range Management Work Increases in Texas
Extension Range Specialist G O Hoffman reports 1957 range management demonstrations totaled 9 198 and covered 3 795 605 acres of Texas rangelands. Cooperating ranchmen say the work yielded over 5 250 000 in increased returns or savings, plus about 1 000 000 from training meetings and field demonstrations. 11 726 operators in 208 counties were aided, with 24 000 stockmen at 880 meetings and 140 field days attended.

The Allen Keller Co won the contract to build grading structures base and surfacing for Ranch to Market Road 165 from US 290 near Henry southwest to Blanco, a 10.3 mile segment. The award was announced by Ed Bluestein, with T. K. Wood supervising for the Highway Department. Completion is expected in about 150 days.
