Fiddlin and Whittlin' Pioneer W A Brown of Harper

W A Brown of Harper is a veteran violin maker with 64 years of experience. He started at 17, took nine months to craft his first violin, and now can finish one in a week. He favors hoe down music, values Stradivarius lore, and has built a workshop full of violins and guitars, including a Stradivarius copy worth about $2000. Brown believes natural aging improves violins and notes a $150,000 value in a repaired New York instrument, which he returned after repairs.
