The Gillespie County action in 1961 rejects a petition seeking a bond election to finance an airport hanger for a private aircraft manufacturing lease. It cites Opinion WW-1194, stating no statutory basis for such petition and that the county cannot issue negotiable securities or use bond proceeds for private manufacturing facilities. The court thus refuses the petition.
Mrs. Ernst Marschall 96 died in a Llano hospital and was buried in Cherry Springs Cemetery. Born Lucie Meusebach July 12 1865 in New Braunfels she was daughter of John O Meusebach founder of Fredericksburg Castell Leiningen and friend to early Texas settlers. Her life included teaching posts, marriage to Ernst Marschall December 28 1889, and long service in Prairie Mountain community before moving to Llano in 1948.
Congressman Fisher addressed the Hill Country Association of Soil Conservation Districts on December 5 at Isaack's Cafe in Junction. All twelve districts attended the mid day gathering. The group agreed to sponsor a conservation exhibit at the January State Meeting in San Antonio.
Readings and services announced for Harper's Churches and Methodist Church. Advent worship times, confirmations, choir practices, and youth events listed for December weekends and weekdays. Pastoral care class, Luther League, and Christmas programs highlighted. everyone invited to attend.
W. W. Massey of Llano and Dean Massey of Kerrville visited Mrs. W. R. Massey Sunday for hunting aid. W. C. Swisher and daughter Mrs. Corine Aldous of Kerrville and Dr. Julia Eley of Houston visited the Fred Nabers home Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Esquell were visitors in the Theo Oehler home Sunday night.
Mrs Walter Eckstein of Venezuela visited Mr and Mrs Ferdin and Tatsch and Mr and Mrs Victor Marschall Thursday. Mesd Fred Bierschwale Hal Ray Bierschwale and children and Alvin Lange and children were shopping and visiting in Fredericksburg Saturday.
A humorous exchange shows Fred revealing he thought he was a fox terrier for months, then consulting a psychiatrist who cured him. Earl asks about his status and Fred replies he is fine and demonstrates by touching his nose.
The Commissioners Court has no legal effect from a petition without Article 1269h V C S and may not call an election or issue negotiable securities for the stated purpose. Francis Floyd holds Sunday School at 9 30 a m and Worship Service at 10 30 a m with a student minister from Austin Presbyterian Seminary filling the pulpit until further notice. Attendees include the Cottle Casper Taylor families and Scotty Lee. Numerous social visits noted among local residents.
The parish led by Rev. Tommy O Bysant invites all to the “Blessed are they who dwell in Thy house” services on Sunday October 15. Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. Worship at 11 a.m. Evening service at 7 p.m. Prayer meeting is held on the first and third Wednesday at 7 30 p.m. A cordial welcome to all.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mazinke and son of Spring Creek visited Mrs. Arthur Baumann Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Staudt and Mrs. Adolph Staudt called on the Baumanns. Dallas Reiger and children spent the weekend in Fort Worth visiting Rev. and Mrs. Bennett and their children.
Father Hubert Baumann of La Coste and his mother Mrs. Arthur Baumann hosted a Thanksgiving dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Joe EB Reiger of Laibbock visited with relatives. Mrs. G N Taylor and daughter Scotty Lee joined others at the funeral of Mr. W O Dickerson in Roosevelt. Dickerson was Taylor’s brother in law.
Sunday gatherings featured Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rahe hosting guests from Fredericksburg and others visiting Ed win Lang and family. W. C. Whitworths and children from Doole visited N. H. Whitworth and relatives at Hunt where the boys hunted bucks. Mr. and Mrs. Lennon and daughter Twinkles of Midland spent the weekend with the Bierschwales and Mrs. Jones.
The notice lists Bible Study on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. Morning Worship at 11:00 a.m. and an Evangelistic Service at 7:30 p.m. It invites everyone to attend.
