World Pen Pals grows from student letter to international program
In 1950 a Minneapolis class inspired by peace sent letters to the President and the UN. The effort evolved into World Pen Pals, now the largest US pen pal program for youth under twenty, with a teacher network and a Minnesota address for memberships and exchanges.

John W. Metzger 75 co founder of Knopp and Metzger died of a heart attack Wednesday at his home. Funeral services set for Friday December 5 at 9 45 am at Schaetter Funeral Home and 10 am at St Marys Catholic Church. Knopp and Metzger will close until Saturday morning with out of town guests from Houston Wharton Fredericksburg and Harper. Friday evening in Austin.
