Dallas Bank Plans 431 Foot 30 Story Building in City Sky
Mercantile National Bank of Dallas will build a 30 story bank and office tower at Main Commerce and Ervay Streets. The 431 foot structure, with 30 floors and two basements, is set for completion in December 1942 and attracts the Sidewalk Superintendents' Club of thousands watching blasting and steam shovel work from a 60 hour capacity viewing stand and upper deck.

Cotton Loans 85 Percent of Parity for Gillespie Farmers
Gillespie County cotton farmers in the AAA program may obtain 85 percent of parity loans on 1941 production. The national basic loan rate for 78 inch middling is 14.02 cents per pound, with 16.49 cents parity and a 1940 8.90 cents rate. Loans depend on acreage allotments and net weight, with penalties for over-allotment. Loans are issued by the Commodity Credit Corporation through approved lenders under county supervision.
