Miss Muriel Wiemers daughter of Mr and Mrs Marvin Wiemers married Aviation Cadet Milton Stuart on July 25 at 7 30 PM in the Presbyterian parsonage Visalia California Rev Leonard C Brown officiated with Mr and Mrs Roy Splitzer as witnesses. The bride wore a white two piece suit with accessories matching the cadet color of his uniform.
Mr and Mrs August Kirchoff and son Lorenz visited Harper on Monday. The Kirchoffs and Lorenz traveled to Fredericksburg with Lorenz Wendel Sr who had been visiting his daughter Mrs Feuge and returned home with them.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Peril were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bierschwale Sunday in a social gathering noted in local society columns.
Mr and Mrs David Schmidt visited Fredericksburg for business on Thursday and Friday. Whitworth Russel Brown and Honig enjoyed a Liano River fishing trip near Junction. The Kirchhoffs and Duderstadt families hosted and visited in Fredericksburg and Kerrville during the weekend. Cowboy Camp Meeting drew many locals Sunday.
Mr and Mrs Lee Goff and Mrs Daniel Arnold traveled to San Antonio and Menard for appointments and to visit relatives. Beatrice Sagebiel finished a course at Duncan Field with high marks. Funeral attendance for Daniel Arnold's father included Mr and Mrs Daniel Arnold and Mrs G C Duderstadt. Visitors included Mr and Mrs S V Forester and Miss Lillie Forester. Harper residents also hosted Mr and Mrs G R Parker and son Lynn in W E Fletcher ranch travels.
Pvt. Clive Sageser 30 son of Mr and Mrs Fritz Sageser of Harper was inducted May 26 1942 and left Fort Sam Houston May 28 for Fort Stone man California to volunteer for overseas duty. He remained in California about two months serving as a truck driver. The last word to his parents was July 20 stating he was leaving for overseas duty, destination unknown.
Mr and Mrs W A Hopf travel to Corona New Mexico Tuesday to visit Mr and Mrs Walter Grosenbacher Billie who was visiting returns home with them Otto Rahe and son Harold accompany them 200 guests at Carl Ochler home and Mrs C W Howard on Sunday include E H Hamilton and Mrs Brack of California Charlie Atkins Roy Atkins Bob Atkins of Houston Patronize Herald Advertisers Sterling Bros offer cool summer attire at bargain prices.
Gillespie County War Price and Rationing Board urges surrender of War Ration Books when entering military service or for heirs after death. They note many have failed to surrender, despite numerous service inductions since May 5, 1942. Mr and Mrs Reuben Thiele of Brady visited relatives here this weekend.
