C 5A Galaxy to Attend Aerofest 71 at Bergstrom AFB
The C 5A Galaxy, the world’s largest aircraft, will appear at Bergstrom AFB for Aerofest 71 Open House and Air Show on August 7 at 8 am. In its first year with Military Air Command, the C 5A carried over 44 million tons of cargo on trans oceanic routes and millions more on domestic flights. Entering its second year on June 1, 1971, the jet can carry 112,600 pounds of cargo over 6,300 miles, about the San Francisco to Tokyo distance.

Harper High School Welcomes New Band Director Creswell
Herbert F Creswell named the new Harper High School band director for the coming school year. A 1970 Southwest Texas State University graduate with a Bachelor of Music Education, he recently completed Army National Guard basic training. A band meeting for 5th through 12th graders is set for Friday at 3:30 pm in the school cafetorium to discuss fall plans and invite interested students to join.
