The calendar lists events including the S. An April school calendar lists a FFA banquet on April 15 with guest speaker Lys Pletcher and Science Club talk by Dr. Samuel Ellison about geological study. Junior and senior events, Easter activities, band rehearsals, and Drivers Ed courses are noted, with Kerrville band contest slated for April 30 and a student project tour in Community Park.
Lions Club hosted a banquet in the Harpe School Cafeterium to honor the Lettermen of 66. Football and basketball lettermen along with band and track athletes were celebrated. Coach Wicker of Fredericksburg gave a speech and individual awards acknowledged each sport’s standout.
The profile honors Marlene Jung, 18, daughter of Edward Jung, for her long musical career with Harper School and the band, her participation in parades including Fiesta Flambeau, her 4-H work, sewing and cooking skills, athletic activities in basketball track and volleyball, and her role as a class representative and assistant to the school paper staff.
Matthew Jung, a Harper High senior, excels academically and athletically. He has upheld top grades, served as class president and treasurer, and acted as parliamentarian in FTA. He plays football, basketball, and runs track, earning district recognition and mayoral Youth Council selection.
A local fishing rodeo is slated for Stonewall in May. The event features families and residents, with participants including Eliza Priess and locals like Mr and Mrs Lou Moellendorf, sharing Easter visits and community gatherings around Willow City and Fredericksburg.
Social rounds include Mire Hilmar Klaehn and others visiting Mrs Loretz Wendel Menndames August Kirchifs and Heler plus Mrs Max Lange at Mrs Martin Arderegg's home in Doss. Tanice Spaeth of Victor Eastes with parents Alfred Spaeth M and Mrs Brown Whitewood with family and Captain Rich Lane of Del Rio hosted by Fred Whitewood Sr. Birthday supper for Mrs Richard Harlan hosted by Mr and Mrs Tommie Harlan with guests Faul Jones Carl Ernst Chas Rogers and Jeanette. Nearby residents Gereisch, Louis Behnet family of Comfort, and Phillip Rauss huke of San Antonio noted. Tradler moving in with newcomers from Edwin Ahrens.
