On April 16 at 2 p.m. in Milam Hall Texas Agricultural Products reps will present Beef-O-Rama covering selection preparation cooking and nutrition of beef cuts with a blade roast trimming demonstration and recipes plus in season vegetables. On April 22 at 7 p.m. at Gillespie County Fairgrounds a home mass casualty event beef cut up demo by Woodrow Bailey shows chilling hanging and freezer cuts. admission is free and participants may bring skinning boning or butcher knives.

No Inmates In New Jail In Gillespie County
Gillespie County's new Law Enforcement Building housed no inmates this week as Tony Coleman was transferred to Huntsville State Penitentiary. Coleman, convicted on burglary charges after last week's District Court trial before Judge Marvin Blackburn, received a two to five year sentence. He had been held on burglary charges tied to Andy's Diner Betty's Restaurant and Jack's Beverage House, with an Alvin arrest last year. Sheriff Hugo Klaener noted the county jail was, for the first time in a long time, empty on Tuesday.

District Court Spring Term Opens Monday in Gillespie County
District Court for Gillespie County will convene Monday morning April 14 at 9 a.m. A 20 member grand jury panel is summoned with a 12 man trial jury and 148 names on the petit jury list to be summoned Tuesday.
