U S construction of houses and apartments rose 10.5 percent in November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.17 million. Single family homes reached an eight year high as December starts with expectations of faster housing starts at a rate near 1.5 million.
Sallie Mae or SLM Corp releases its quarterly report with expectations of higher earnings and revenue for the fourth quarter versus last year. The prior three quarters showed a mix of results with the first and third quarters weaker and the second quarter stronger. The consumer price index rose 0.2 percent seasonally adjusted.
