Commencement notes for the Class of 1924 at East High School

The Class of 1924 will hold commencement on June 5 in the High School Auditorium with about 300 members. The program includes a girls chorus, salutatory, class songs, diplomas, and honors. The Baccalaureate is set for June 1 at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Kinney delivering the sermon.

County Spelling Contest Set For June 5 At Eldora

The Hardin County Spelling Contest will be held at the Fair Grounds Eldora on Thursday June 5 at 10 o'clock. Twenty representatives from rural and town schools will spell for honors after winning preliminary contests. Winners receive cash prizes and will represent the county at the state spelling contest in Des Moines.
